New Directions in Parts Therapy
17–19 June 2027 | Erlangen, Bavaria, Germany
Working with Personality Parts is Changing How We Heal Trauma. Let’s Talk About Where It Goes Next.
After the warmth and magic of our first gathering in Bali, we are bringing the global Resource Therapy family together in Europe.
Whether you have used parts work for decades or are just beginning to notice how naturally it fits into your practice, this conference is a space to gather, learn, reflect, and connect with people who get it.
No overly dense academic lectures. Just three days of good conversations, practical clinical wisdom, and real human connection in historic Erlangen.
What Makes This Gathering Special
- Learn with the Pioneers: Sit in the room with Prof. Gordon Emmerson PhD, creator of Resource Therapy, as he shares his latest thinking.
- Bridge Parts & Somatics: Hear from Dr Silvia Zanotta PhD (Somatic Ego State Therapy) on her expertise in somatic experiencing and parts work in assisting to help complex trauma clients heal.
- Honest Clinical Conversations: Go beyond the textbook. We will look at what actually happens in the therapy room when sessions get complex, stuck, or intense.
- A Genuine Community: Reconnect with old friends and make new ones across our international network of warm, like-minded practitioners.

A Conference Designed For Real Clinical Practice
This is not a conference built solely on theory. It is designed for clinicians who want:
- clear thinking in complex sessions,
- practical ways to work with parts, and
- a framework that holds under pressure.
You will explore how Resource Therapy supports direct, structured work with personality parts, also known as Resource States.
Why More Therapists Are Turning To Parts Work Psychology
Many client presentations involve more than one issue at a time. Trauma, attachment injury, internal conflict, dissociation, and persistent emotional patterns often sit side by side.
Without a clear framework, sessions can begin to feel uncertain, repetitive, or difficult to track.
Parts work offers another way of understanding complexity. It helps therapists recognise which part is active, what function it is serving, and how to respond with greater precision.
What You Will Gain
By attending, you will deepen your understanding of parts-based therapy and gain clinically relevant perspectives you can carry back into your work.
The conference is designed to support:
- clearer identification of the active part in the session
- greater confidence in working with complexity
- stronger language for explaining parts work to clients
- practical ideas for trauma-informed and attachment-informed practice
- connection with an international professional community

A Shared Interest
While backgrounds may differ, attendees are often united by a common interest in:
parts-based approaches,
trauma-informed practice,
attachment theory,
dissociation and internal conflict, and
integrative, client-centred therapy.
