Directory Profile Naming
RTI directory profiles should normally be listed using the member’s professional name in the format:
First name Last name
Examples:
- John Smith
- Chris Paulin
Names should not be entered as joined text, such as Johnsmith.
Professional naming variations
Where appropriate, a member may be listed using the professional name by which they are known in practice.
This may include:
- a shortened first name
- a professional nickname
- a first name with surname initial
- a culturally appropriate mononym
- another established professional naming convention
Examples may include:
- John S
A full legal name is not required where the member professionally uses another recognised name. Please ensure you use your name associated with your RT certification
Business names
Clinical and Trainer members should be listed under their individual professional name, not their business or practice name.
Business or organisation names may be used as the primary profile name for Organisational members.
Email Addresses
Email addresses must not be used as the profile name.
For example:
info@johsmith.com. should be replaced with the member’s professional name once the profile information is complete.
Cultural naming conventions
RTI recognises cultural and regional differences in naming. Members who professionally use a single name or other recognised naming convention may be listed accordingly.
RTI Rights and Administration
Resource Therapy International reserves the right to review, edit, correct, suspend, unpublish or remove any directory profile where reasonably necessary to maintain the accuracy, integrity and professional standards of the RTI directory.
Authorised RTI administrators and editors may make minor corrections without prior approval where the intended information is clear. This may include spelling, formatting, spacing, categorisation, duplicated information and obvious data-entry errors.
RTI may also amend or remove content that:
- is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading
- does not meet RTI membership or directory requirements
- misrepresents qualifications, training, recognition or membership status
- uses an inappropriate profile name, business name, email address or username
- contains promotional, inappropriate or irrelevant material
- may create confusion about a member’s RTI recognition
- is inconsistent with RTI policies or professional standards
- may reasonably place RTI, its members or the public at risk
Where a change is substantial, RTI will normally seek clarification from the member where practical. However, RTI may edit, suspend or remove a listing without prior notice where immediate action is considered necessary.
Final discretion regarding directory content rests with RTI and its authorised officers acting on behalf of the organisation.
