🌏 Healing From the Inside Out: Our First Global Resource Therapy Conference

In June 2025, something extraordinary happened.

We gathered on the island of Bali for the first-ever Resource Therapy International World Conference, and the experience was nothing short of transformational.

It was more than professional development. It was a coming together of hearts and minds. A celebration of what makes Resource Therapy so powerful, and so needed, in today’s world.

πŸŽ“ A Historic First – And a Dream Realised

As President of Resource Therapy International (RTI), I am incredibly proud of what we created together. After years of online growth and global interest, we finally met in person – clinicians, trainers, and curious newcomers alike – to deepen our learning and strengthen our connections.

From morning workshops to evening conversations, you could feel the energy of something real unfolding. We were not just talking about healing – we were living it.

    πŸ‘‘ Honouring Our Founder

A heartfelt thank you to Dr Gordon Emmerson, founder of Resource Therapy, for leading our pre-conference workshop and delivering a moving and insightful keynote address.

His full-day training, Self-Administered Resource Therapy for You and Your Clients, gave us practical ways to use RT in our own lives and reaffirmed the model’s depth, flexibility, and power.

β€œWhen we meet the part that holds the pain – and respond with precision and compassion – everything changes.”
    – Dr Gordon Emmerson

Gordon, your presence and wisdom anchored the entire event. We are so grateful.

🎀 Our Presenters – Real-World Healing in Action

We were honoured to showcase a diverse crew of talented, thoughtful presenters, each bringing a unique lens on applying Resource Therapy in real-world contexts:

πŸ’‘ Philipa Thornton – Infidelity Healing Through a Parts Lens
🧠 Mel Canning – Resource Therapy for Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
🌧 Chris Paulin – Depression and Memory Reconsolidation
πŸŒ€ Gina McClement – Understanding and Supporting ADHD With Resource Therapy
🌏 Alguskha Nalendra – Culturally Adapted RT OPI’s, and Coaching Applications
πŸ”₯ Tracy Lynch – First Nations Strength-Based Healing and Timeline Work
🧭 Kevin Peel – Getting a Plan From the Inner Clan: A Case for Formulation

Huge thanks to each one of you, talented humans. You were amazing. We braved blackout, sound problems, Antarctic air conditioning, Bali belly, and we came through for each other.

Your presentations offered clinical depth, fresh insights, and clear examples of how Resource Therapy adapts across diagnoses, populations, and practice styles. Fabulous!

Whether it was trauma, neurodivergence, intergenerational pain, dwelling in depression, DID or relationship breakdown, the message was consistent: RT works.

And it works respectfully, effectively, and fast.

✨ A Night to Remember – All That Glitters Is Gold

We could not gather in paradise without celebrating! Our banquet night – themed All That Glitters Is Gold – invited everyone to bring their most fabulous Resource Parts out to play. Thanks so much, Ernst for your fun playing of the Alp horn!

Sequins, sparkle, laughter, music, and heartfelt moments flowed. It was a joyful reminder that healing can include pleasure, connection, and lightness.

πŸ’– Thank You to Our Global RT Community

To everyone who joined us – thank you. From seasoned psychologists, counsellors, hypnotherapists, doctors, social workers, and mental health professionals, to coaches, bodyworkers, and students of parts work – your presence made this event unforgettable.

A special thank you to our incredible Indonesian Resource Therapy team – coach Alkha and local hosts for your warmth and generous hospitality. Your contributions helped shape an experience that was culturally rich, professionally rigorous, and personally meaningful.

We were thrilled to welcome attendees from Australia, Indonesia, Germany, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa, and beyond – proving that the Resource Therapy movement is truly global.

nd none of this could have happened without the tireless work of the RTI Executive Committee – Chris Paulin, Wendy Brewer, Donna Meyer, David Galloway, Christiane Essing, Alkha Nalendra, and Shane Marsh. Your behind-the-scenes leadership, planning, and heart made this historic event a reality. Thank you for holding the ship steady.

Together, we are creating something meaningful – a movement rooted in compassion, precision, and connection.

🧭 Resource Therapy – A Therapy That Meets the Moment

If you are new to RT, here is what makes it so unique:

    • Parts-focused – We work directly with the part in pain, not the whole personality
    • Clear treatment structure – 15 evidence-informed Actions guide the work step by step
    • Client-led and respectful – Clients stay in control, and we meet them where they are
    • Effective across presentations – RT is used for trauma, depression, shame, addiction, ADHD, grief, dissociative Identity Disorder, anxiety, business improvement, culturally respectful, OPI’s phenomenon, infidelity, and more
    • Strengths-based and brief – We empower internal healing without pathologising the person, complex resilience

Whether your client is stuck in shame, overwhelmed by inner critics, or split between decisions, RT provides a path forward.

And once you understand how to identify and work with the exact State, things start to shift.

    πŸ’¬ What People Are Saying

β€œThis was more than a conference – it was a soul-deep reminder of why I became a therapist.”

β€œI’ve come home with tools, confidence, and a full heart.”

β€œI finally have a model that maps what I’ve intuitively sensed – but now I can name it, work with it, and change it.”

Together, we are building a vibrant international network of clinicians committed to trauma-informed, parts-based healing. We cannot wait to see what we co-create next.
