Clinical Training in Resource Therapy

What Are the Levels of Resource Therapy Training?

We offer three progressive levels of professional training, plus optional post-clinical masterclasses.

Level 3 – Foundation Training

Duration: 2 days (12 hours)

  • An engaging introduction to Resource Therapy (also known as Advanced Ego State Therapy).
  • Covers the fundamentals and provides the essential first step toward full Clinical qualification.

Level 2 – Clinical Qualification

Duration: Foundation (2 days) + 8 additional days = Total 60 hours

To qualify as a Clinical Resource Therapy Therapist, you must:

  1. Complete the 2-day Foundation Training with an RTI-approved trainer.
  2. Be formally listed by your trainer on the RTI student and graduate database.

Full 10-Day Clinical Program Topics
Gain practical skills across ten focused training days:

  1. Day 1 – Overview of Therapy – Core principles, history, and the ship/parts metaphor.
  2. Day 2 – Working with Conflicted States: Techniques to Resolve Inner Conflict.
  3. Day 3 – Diagnosis and Dissonant States – Identifying and mapping resource issues.
  4. Day 4 – Vaded in Confusion – Approaches for Clients Experiencing Grief or Overwhelm.
  5. Day 5 – Vaded in Rejection or Fear – Healing rejection wounds and fear-based responses.
  6. Day 6 – Retro States & Vaded in Disappointment – Addressing depression, low mood, and protective retro reactions.
  7. Day 7 – Resource State Mapping / Ethics – Creating clear maps and working ethically.
  8. Day 8 – Working with Pain & Somatic Presentations – Integrating mind–body interventions.
  9. Day 9 – Separation Sieve / What Lies Within – Advanced interventions for deep processing.
  10. Day 10 – Anchoring with Dissonant State Work – Consolidating change and anchoring new states.

Level 1 – Advanced Clinical and Trainer & Train-the-Trainer

Duration: 5 days (35 hours)

This advanced program provides a dual certificate:
Advanced Clinical Resource Therapy and Resource Therapy Trainer.

Eligibility:

  • Hold a Clinical RT qualification.
  • Experienced trainers may progress to Senior Level Trainer status, demonstrating exceptional teaching and leadership within the RTI community (must have delivered at least four Clinical trainings with a minimum of four participants each).
  • Advanced and Senior Level Trainer training is coordinated through Resource Therapy International with approved trainers.

Who Can Train in Resource Therapy?

Resource Therapy training welcomes a wide range of professionals who wish to integrate parts-based, evidence-informed techniques into their work, including:

  • Registered psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists, clinical hypnotherapists, and social workers
  • Mental-health nurses, psychiatrists, and medical practitioners with a therapy focus
  • Allied-health professionals, such as occupational therapists or art therapists
  • Experienced coaches, teachers, or educators with formal counselling/therapy backgrounds
